Humane exclusion
The preferred outcome is an empty structure and a building that will not take the animal back. The animal is not the repair.
Vacancy before any seal
An active opening is not closed while an animal, or its young, is still inside. The structure is checked for dependent young first. Sealing a mother out and her litter in is not exclusion. It is a worse job.
One-way exit
Where the building can hold, a door, flap, or funnel is fitted to the route the animal already uses. It leaves on its own and cannot re-enter. The device stays until there is no sign of a return — longer in cold or wet weather — and the opening is sealed the same day the device comes off.
Bats, on their own terms
Bats are excluded with one-way tubes or netting, not traps, and not poison. In Alabama that work is scheduled outside the pupping season, April through August, when pups cannot fly. Inactive cracks are closed first. The active exit is the last opening to go.
A seal that survives teeth
Foam, caulk, and bare wood are not exclusion materials at a chew point. Openings are closed with galvanized hardware cloth, steel flashing, mortar, or a repaired soffit, fascia, vent, or chimney cap — matched to the species and the gap.
The building, not just the hole
Secondary gaps are closed before the primary exit is fitted, or the animal simply moves to the next one. Limbs that bridge to the roof, open trash, and unscreened vents are part of the same repair. Burrowing animals get a dig guard, not a plugged hole they will reopen overnight.
Capture only when exclusion cannot finish the job
A live trap is a tool, not the default, and it is checked on a set schedule. Handling stays inside the ADCNR permit. Alabama limits where a live animal can be moved, and rabies-vector species are treated as a public-health matter, not a relocation.
Capability
Urban Wildlife Removal & Prevention works at the intersection of wildlife behavior, structural analysis, and risk prevention. Founded and led by Brent Davidson, the company treats conflict as a systems problem — not a nuisance call — and answers it with precision, discipline, and a long view.
Removal alone is not a resolution. Intrusion is almost always the predictable result of a structural weakness and pressure from the habitat around the building. The task is to determine why the animal entered, how the structure failed over time, and which intervention breaks that pattern for good.
Every project opens with an inspection of entry points, pressure zones, and attractants, read against established wildlife-management practice. Decisions stay inspection-driven: humane exclusion first, then a permanent structural correction. That sequence reduces recurrence, limits property damage, and matches current practice in urban wildlife control.
As owner and authorized company representative, Brent Davidson holds direct oversight of field procedure, employee training, and documentation. Internal controls govern authority, conduct, and compliance, so a scheduled inspection and an emergency call are held to the same standard. That discipline protects the client, the crew, and the work.
The operating line is fixed: integrity over expedience, analysis over assumption, and prevention over repetition. Work is delivered with transparency, regulatory awareness, and respect for both the property and the animal — without pressure tactics or exaggerated claims.
Clients are not buying a quick fix. They are buying a measured, defensible solution. From the first assessment through final exclusion, the aim does not change: reduce risk, restore control, and leave a result that holds.
